LiMo believes that the growth of the mobile industry depends on the existence of a broadly accepted operating system. Without a commonly accepted operating system, the industry is fragmented: handset manufacturers are forced to keep investing in their own operating systems. The existence of so many incompatible operating systems inhibits developers of third-party software from investing in the development of unique applications -- for business users, entertainment, games, music, etc. -- that will ultimately drive industry growth. |
